The Little Miracle

Yesterday I was in Stokenham, a small village about a mile away. I didn't know it but Stokenham seems to have it's own micro climate, because even though down here on the coast our gardens bloom longer than most other places in England, Stokenham has a small miracle garden that is currently in full summer.

All of these flowers are in bloom at the moment just over a month away from Christmas. And all of these flowers were in the same thirty square feet in a small garden just below the church tower, protected from the wind and rain.

The other strange thing is that these are not late autumn flowers, but are all flowers that normally bloom at the height of summer.

  1. That is truly amazing! I've seen some fairly extreme micro-climes before, but usually involving things like pocket canyons or severe elevation differences out West. What fun!

  2. #4 does it for me. Absolutely gorgeous. How cool would it be if we had flowers growing all year long? Oh wait there are places like that, except we don't live there :)
